Welcome Back to Columbus, Senator Grendell!!!

Republicans everywhere in Ohio and especially powerful ones in Columbus are not very happy with State Senator Tim Grendell.
Grendell (R-Chesterland, 18th District) found himself unopposed on November 4 for his second term in the Ohio Senate. He was one of only two State Senators who faced no opposition – and the only Republican. Kind of curious.
Both the Democrat (Mark Schneider) and Republican (Carol-Ann Schindel) candidates in the 63rd House District claimed Grendell's support in one of the marquee races from three weeks ago. The 63rd is located in parts of Lake County, which also is part of Grendell's Senate territory. Both Schneider and Schindel had ads
with the Republican Grendell's statements of support. "I am confident that Mark Schneider will provide a strong voice for the families of Lake County in the House of Representatives," one of the Schneider ads quoted Grendell as saying. According to Gongwer (subscription required), House Democrats said their spots stemmed from an agreement with the lawmaker, who would not go as far as an endorsement but agreed to provide the quotes and appear in a picture with Mr. Schneider. The Democrat's campaign produced signed copies of the statements on the candidate's letterhead as proof of the arrangement. But he did say later "I exclusively and wholeheartedly endorse State Representative Carol-Ann Schindel." Way to back your party, Tim. In the end, Schneider won with around 54% of the vote.
It is really a matter of semantics if he endorsed Schneider. But Grendell did agree to appear in his campaign lit and say nice things about him, stopping short of using the word "endorse." He may as well have though. The common understanding is he pulled this stunt in a quid pro quo for running unopposed, even though the Democrats didn't really have a top tier candidate to run against him. So there really wasn't a need to do this. Grendell has a reputation of just looking out for his own best interest and stepping on anyone needed that is in his way, including Republicans, and this would certainly be an example. Grendell has reportedly been getting some very icy treatment from his colleagues.
Grendell has been long known to have his eye on the U.S. House seat of Steve LaTourette. From what I am hearing he can forget that now. He will not get the party backing if the chance ever comes. There has been talk he will lose any possible chairmanship for the next legislative session in Columbus. To say that many of his fellow Republicans in Columbus and the leadership was outraged over his actions is an understatement. Additionally, I was told that tonight at the Lake County Republican Party executive committee meeting the discussion of censuring Grendell will be started.
One local point to add to this. At the April meeting of the Summit County Central Committee, Grendell was the hand chosen parliamentarian of Alex Arshinkoff. Grendell was paid handsomely for his services that night. Real objective.

I cannot resist the temptation. Two Timmer Timmy represented the Summit County Republican Party (What's left of it) when they sued to re-write Ohio Revised Code as far as the Secretarry of State's responsibility is concerned with Board of Election appointments. When Alex Arshinkoff was justifiably shown the door along with three of his goons there, he tried to bring in Brian Dailey. Dailey was showed the door too and that is when Alex sued and Two Timer Timmy stepped in to save the day (yea right).
Behold a fundraiser was made and the deal was cut and personal invites were sent out with the usual suspects as honorary show uppers. When you made the check out, Alex had the money sent his way rather than Two Timer's and behold strings were pulled and guess whom did not have an opponent? Alex's coffers are heavier and Two Timer Timmy just sails off to an auto-win. In the mean time money can be funneled to other campaigns and Alex's old buddy Baloney Billy has a little extra dough to finally have the fight of his life.
Now for you people who believe that no deals are cut don't be so naieve, they are. For those of you who know they are and are laughing about it, well as the saying goes "What goes around comes around" The way things look sooner than later.
Ben look for this little sham to start falling apart. When it does get a bowl of popcorn, it'll be fun
You guys aren't going to be like the Democrats with Lieberman and say "all is forgiven just come home"?
Deals are always cut, but not so much when backing someone of the other party. Disgraceful.
What a scum bucket.
Well apparently Kevin Coughlin is using his little mouthpiece Ben Keeler to attack one of his enemies (Grendell).
Coughlin hates Grendel beacause Grendel was sharp enough to have Democrat Jenny Brunner testify under oath the Arshinkoff firing was at the behest of Wayno Jones and the Coughlin New summit Republican cabal. This act exposed their house of cards and caused it to implode to a grand 30 percent of the vote!
Grendel is way to sharp for Coughlin's manuevering in the Senate.
Aiex, you couldn't be furthest from the truth about your reappointment. That is why your a collage drop-out.
Anon, Would you please grammer check and spell check your posts???? Furthest from the truth??? Not your a college drop out, but you're. You idiot. What are you a second grader?
Hey Keelerquack! Where are you getting all of this "insider" Senate information??????
If anyone doubts Ben, just ask the chairman of either the Lake, Geauga, or Cuyahoga county republlican parties. Or just ask Senate President Bill Harris. Ask Mary Taylor. Just ask anyone who knows.
They will all confirm that Tim Grendell do this, and many will confirm that he has pulled similar stunts before.
And to Lisa: The difference between Grendell and Lieberman is only one of them was upfront about their intentions. The other one is a back stabber who is now rightfully a pariah in the senate republican caucus.
"Would you please grammer check" haha. irony.
lets see, well I got most of the info from gongwer, including the quotes. thats why i linked to it.
then i looked around on the internet for some other things, like who else was unopposed. Then I just printed what most people already know about the situation. I laugh everytime you accuse me of just taking stuff Kevin says.
People up in the actual district are the ones that aren't happy. Maybe it came from there?
Oh Alex you naughty, naughty little boy. Is that the only thing you can come up with is grammar and spell check? Perhaps you should spell check as well since you miss spelled grammar, and why all the exclamation points? After all if you knew what you were talking about you would phrase it correctly the first time. However you must not have gone past Kindergarten by the infantile statements you have done.
So you are a collage drop out? How quaint we have a Chairman of the Summit County Republican Party that demands candidates have a collage degree and he has none himself. Oh the shame of it all to know that we have a chairman that speaks out of both sides of his mouth. Or as the Native Americans would say “Paleface speak with fork tongue!”.
Get a life and a real job you immature (not so little) twit. However then again you have no experience in a real job do you?
This isnt about Summit County politics. Some of you dont get that everything isnt about that. Its about Tim Grendell being a snake.
Sorry I have digressed so far from the beaten path. I just felt I had some venting to do because this area of north-east Ohio has been politically devastated by a bunch of self serving nit-wits and these two fit together like a hand in a glove.
I sat next to the senator and his wife at the Parkman Pancake breakfast (1hr. including line).I did a little chatting and listening to them talking to the other diners.Petty politics and local graveling aside I liked what the man had to say…that both partys need to expand on core intergity ,that politics are not a soccor match with the demacrats vs republican and that a one party system is not a democracy its a dictatorship,if everyone dosen't pull together this great country will pull apart. If your getting your political views from the obermans and rush linblas your probally getting the the type of government you deserve now…get off your couch, get informed get involved
