Delay.

  • Author: Ben Keeler

This post hurts me to the core. From TV Week: Major League Baseball has moved back the scheduled start time of game six of the World Series so Fox can join CBS and NBC in airing a half-hour Barack Obama advertisement on Oct. 29, network and league sources said. A network spokeswoman confirmed the buy and said MLB had agreed to the network’s request for the delay. Fox now joins CBS and NBC in airing the half hour program, the content of which the Obama campaign has declined to describe.

Yes, I know that the NFL moved up their opening game to accommodate the RNC this year. That was a political convention, not an infomercial. But if you want to accuse me of being a whiny hypocrite, go ahead. Hey Fox, remember when Obama and those other Democrat also rans wouldn't appear on your news network for a debate? No? I guess not.

If there is a Game 6, I am strongly considering boycotting watching the game on television and just listening on radio - and my favorite team is going to be in the World Series. Maybe Obama is going to announce that he will take money from the players and "spread it around." Or "instead of the 7th inning stretch tonight we will be showing pictures from an Obama family gathering on the scoreboard."

Obamanation. Shame on Fox.

Please no Game 6! (Phillies in 5). What is The One going to talk about by the way during his infomercial? Why is he buying so much airtime if "this race is over?"

    Hmmmmmmm……….

Well he is the Messiah, so if he wants a half an hour we are forced to comply…

    Ben,

They all do this crap, at least be happy that you won't be missing any of the game. Bush gave plenty of Prime Time speeches that interrupted my shows, and I just missed about 15 minutes of that show. But you are right, this is a paid advertisement, & they would do the same for McCain.

Obama is buying so much airtime (and I detect a bit of jealousy) in order to attempt to unite the country, not just Democrats. I know that Republicans don't think Obama cares anything about America, but….he does. He knows that many on the far right harbor racial prejudices and theocon fantasies…so he will try to blunt all that craziness with a call to unite for the sake of America.

Don't you want to see the nation united?

    Reverend,

You can serve all the koolaid you like. I'm not drinking it.

  9. James Carter October 17th, 2008 at 4:08 pm

I hope to be Sec of State in the Obama Admin.

    Mr. Carter,

Not gonna happen. Ms. Brunner is buying that position with her complicity in the ACORN voter fraud mess.

There he goes again. I am not voting for Carter the sequel.
