Ad Watch: Debra Targets Disgruntlement Democrats

Yesterday, the McCain campaign launched this new spot titled "Debra." Debra is a disgruntled Clinton Democrat who is voting for John McCain. The strategy behind the ad is a smart move by the McCain campaign. I suspect we will see this ad tonight in Ohio during convention coverage on the cable networks.

The media will have its cameras and microphones scouring the crowd at tonight's Democratic Convention looking for real life Debras to broadcast to the nation. The scrutiny will be intense. Tonight presents a real opportunity for Senator Clinton to get the Debras in swing states to warm up to Senator Obama and unite behind the issues we care about as Democrats. The real bump Obama could get coming out of our convention could come from Clinton Democrats coming home and supporting the ticket. I will be watching tonight with great interest.

Unrelated: Governor Strickland will speak tonight about 6:30pm

Gallup Daily: No Bounce for Obama in Post-Biden Tracking

McCain creeps ahead, 46% to 44%USA Election 2008 Gallup Daily Americas Northern America

PRINCETON, NJ — It's official: Barack Obama has received no bounce in voter support out of his selection of Sen. Joe Biden to be his vice presidential running mate.

Gallup Poll Daily tracking from Aug. 23-25, the first three-day period falling entirely after Obama's Saturday morning vice presidential announcement, shows 46% of national registered voters backing John McCain and 44% supporting Obama, not appreciably different from the previous week's standing for both candidates. This is the first time since Obama clinched the nomination in early June, though, that McCain has held any kind of advantage over Obama in Gallup Poll Daily tracking.

The Obama supporters pissed all over HRC and her supporters in the primary, at least a 10% defection to McCain. McCain is onlyy going up

If Obama denies Hillary a full roll call vote he can kiss his aspirations good-bye.

The way Debra was treated for expressing what quite a few other Democrats have stated or thought has been interesting to follow. As for finding any "Debra's" there? Only if they are willing to be kicked out of the convention…which I don't think many would do, at least not until after the Clinton's have spoken.

One of the many stories out there on what happened.

I have always assumed that with the passage of time and the reality of voting for McClown drew closer those that strongly supported Hillary would vote for Obama. To me the bigger question is will the more conservative Dems jump ship. This may be Obama's downfall.
