I love Rush! In fact I have always loved Rush…I couldn't be happier in our capitalistic ways, and his fantastic salary. He has stood out so long and succeeded thus far because he tells us what is going on, not sifting info through a filter.

It's been many years since I've caught more than a few minutes here and there of Rush's show, but his influence cannot be denied. You are right, Ben. Without Rush, the media probably still would be wall to wall liberalism.

And when a raving liberal like the Reverend hates Rush's guts, you know Rush has to be doing something right.

I have neve been a fan of Rush. Too much arrogance and to little time holding the Rep.'s and Bush accountable for their failures, most importantly lack of fiscal responsibility and the growth of gov. I do admit the man is a talent. In general I have found the right wing talks show hosts while bombastic are more fact oriented and less slanderous than those on Air America( I tried to listen to both when Air America was available in this area).

Rush is the master of the radio talk show. I agree with Ben's point that it isn't what Rush says, but how he says it that has put him on top. He uses his program to drive home his brand of conservative politics through disciplined repetition, usually with humor. His nicknames for his opponents always knock them down a notch. He went after "Maverick Senator" John McCain for years and years. IMO if you want to understand conservative politics in America, you need to listen to Rush.

As a Democrat, I listen to Rush because I know my conservative friends will use his arguments verbatim. It is good to hear things in advance.

Nothing the drug addict says ever shocks me. What shocks me is when young and smart newcomers, like Ben, praise the drug addict.

The drug addict, a self-confessed water carrier for the Bush-Cheney reign of terror waged against the American people the last eight years, has done more to build the bonfires of intolerance, hate and propaganda in America than any other single person.

It would be prudent for me to mention that the drug addict began his propaganda about the same time that Reagan began dismantling American worker rights and middle class wages.

Which has led to our current national economic implosion and energy dependency.

I suppose Republicans are proud of the results of a big-mouthed drug addict's contribution to our nation's demise.

But hey, he's funny.

It does go to show how conservative the country really is when a pervert such as Al Frankin tries to be the liberal standard bearer and his show goes belly up in no time flat. That said having heard Rush off and on for those last 20 years he has wore thin with me. I look at it as he has always shown himself as some kind of perfect grandious "I am the standard bearer for us all" and we see his personal life collapse around him. Ben I appreciate you showing your love for him and his show, I turned him off over 10 years ago.
