Jeff – and others who "have no problem with" Chief Wahoo – educate yourself even a tiny bit in the social sciences and you will see exactly how demeaning Chief Wahoo is to Native Americans. You obviously have complete disregard to the actual cultures of Indians and complete disrespect for their valid feelings about Cleveland's team logo. Chief Wahoo is beyond disrespectful to Native Americans and continues to cycle numerous predjudices and stereotypes about them that are continually passed on from generation to generation, in large part due to ignorances like this. Use your brain for more than 5 seconds when thinking about this subject. Consider YOURself bitch-slapped, JEFF.

Of course no one here is for changing the mascot. Conservatives have no heart and basically have "White Entitlement" when is comes to most issues. Go ahead and call me a liberal like you do to all people who disagree with your stances. This is such an obviously racist mascot, the most racist mascot that exists in any sport today. There is nothing derogatory about the Patriots, so to compare that to the use of a terrible caricature of Native Amnericans is moronic. Wearing this logo is so out of place these days and anyone that would have any culture or appreciation for human kind would be embarrassed to be adorned in anything Wahoo. Racism = Ignorance. Most of your here are completely ignorant to others and good luck when you meet the good Lord in heaven, he will be very ashamed of you.

As a resident of Montana, now home to seven Native American tribes, I have never recieved any negative comments while wearing my Chief Wahoo hat. (which I wear often)
The Native Americans that I have met are concerned about the same things that I am, making a decent living, rasing a healthy family and being good to each other.
Go Tribe! Which ever one you belong to!

Anyone who is offended by a cartoon needs mental help. It is 100% wrong to give the rasberries to Chief Wahoo. He is an honor to Louis Sox Alexis a former player. It is a tribute to him. People who are ignorant do not understand this. Get over yourself. If this is the worst thing in your life, you need to get a life. If you don't like Chief Wahoo, root for the White Sox or something like that. Oh no…wait a minute…I used to have a pair of White Sox. That symbol really hurts. Get rid of the White Sox. That is really insulting to Black people. White Sox. Where do they get off? When will this end? Don't forget the Red Sox and the Redlegs (Cincinnati for those of you who are dumb). Being a native of Ohio, I've been away from Cleveland for 21 years. The biggest reminder of 'home' is seeing Chief Wahoo, either on a hat,a bumper sticker or a shirt. It's loved nationwide… I've seen it in many states from Ohio to California. It has been around for as long as I can remember and has been a constant part of Cleveland. In fact i am so proud of loving both, i'm about to get a tattoo of him on my ankle. Those who are against it, must not have anything touch them so deeply. It's about hometown pride,consistency and most of all a common love shared by more people than anyone can imagine. so for those who disagree, think about what's truly important to you,and consider what it means to us.

Mr. Henry Aaron has said publicly; "If the names, 'Braves,' 'Indians,' and/or 'Redskins' offend even one Native American, then it should be removed." He then went on to say something to the effect; "Just like Rosa Parks did on that bus years ago, the Native Americans are saying these names and images must go." I would also refer anyone who has, or doesn't have an opinion on this subject to the "Fryberg Report." This report was compiled by Stephanie Fryberg and has been accepted by almost every major psychiatric group in America saying this report proves the harm these names and mascots/logs have on Native AND Non-Native students.

Yup…chief wahoo has to go!

Not that much attuned to PC on this issue, but agree with DA on this issue. The logo is demeaning. I can't think of any other ethnic, religious, or nationality that is used in this way. Wait, what about the Milwaukee Braves?

The Chief and the term "Redskins" seem obviously offensive. But I suspect there's a second reason Native Americans aren't listened to on this topic, in addition to the fact they have little political power–most either don't care or feel that the nicknames in general honor their history.

Perhaps various groups could be formed and intitate class action suits defending the right for their favorite nickname to be universal. We could spend years and create quite a show as the issue winds its way through the court system. My personal favorite for a univerisal nickname is the INCLUSIVES
